Surf’s Up in Mesa, Arizona!
Mesa, Arizona is home to Cannon Beach, a 37-acre multi-use development anchored by Revel Surf, the first surf park in the world to feature both a large traveling wave and a stationary rapid surf wave in one place.
Among the main attractions at Cannon Beach, the 2-acre surfing lagoon called Revel Surf features the world’s first Swell MFG’s Traveling Surf Technology and UNIT Surf Pool's Stationary Rapid Surf Technology together. The surf park also will have a real sand beach, cliff diving and other activities centered around surfing.
Matt Gunn from Swell MFG provides insight into the surf system featured in the expansive 2-acre lagoon, emphasizing its uniqueness as a "natural surfing lineup, complete with a peak wave that offers an array of incredible and varied surfing experiences suitable for all skill levels." As an Arizona resident and a lifelong surfer, he says "we are stoked to offer the many experienced surfers living in the area a wave near their home and to introduce surfing to those interested in learning the sport.”
The collaboration between Swell MFG and UNIT Surf Pool is set to position this surf park as one of the most sought-after surfing destinations in the United States. This partnership promises an ideal surfing experience catering to individuals of all ages and skill levels, presenting an unparalleled opportunity for surf lessons and technical advancement, as conveyed by Tony Finn from UNIT Surf Pool.
In addition to the surf park, Cannon Beach will offer two hotels, event space, a gym, experiential dining, retail shops, and various community spaces such as fire pits, water features, cabanas and splash pads. Additionally, an indoor entertainment “sports playground,” operated by a company called KTR, which will include parkour, trampolines, BMX bikes, scooters and other activities for kids.

Where To Stay
One of the on-site hotels will be a Cannon Beach-branded boutique hotel with a pool club deck, cabanas, chef-inspired dining, and a speakeasy cocktail bar. The other hotel is planned to be the Aloft Hotel by Marriott.
