Boeing Mesa - Electrical Center of Excellence Works To Become More Inclusive Workplace By Completing A Neurodiversity Training and Certification Program
Boeing Mesa - Electrical Center of Excellence ((EcoE) has earned the Certified Neurodiverse Workplace™(CNW) designation granted by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). This designation means that the Electrical Center team has completed a training and certification program designed to help managers and HR professionals understand and attract neurodiverse workers and assist team members to work better together.
“At Boeing, we know our success relies on our ability to honor and celebrate the best in everyone, of every background and identity”, said Sara Bowen, vice president Global Equity, Diversity & Inclusion. “Diversity needs to be at the table for every important decision we make. Inclusion needs to be the bedrock of every team’s operations. The best part is, not only will inclusion make our teams stronger, it will make every one of us better.”
Boeing Mesa - Electrical Center of Excellence joins the growing number of organizations in and around Mesa, AZ to become certified to help build a more inclusive community to work, live and visit. Visit Mesa initiated this movement which has resulted in Mesa becoming the first-ever Autism Certified City.
The Electrical Center of Excellence (EcoE) is building a inclusive team that plays a key role in helping refine and sharpen the way BDS Fabrication designs, builds and delivers products to a variety of programs across the enterprise. The center works alongside a specialized fulfillment center onsite, in which neurodivergent staff members perform a number of duties in order to enhance panstock (bulk supplies) for the entire ECoE.
For more than 20 years, IBCCES has been the industry leader in cognitive disorder training and certification for education, healthcare, and corporate professionals around the globe. IBCCES provides evidence-based training and certification programs created in conjunction with clinical experts and individuals with autism in order to provide professionals serving individuals with cognitive disorders a better understanding of what these disorders are, industry best practices, and the latest research in these areas.
“IBCCES is excited to partner with a valuable community leader like Boeing Mesa - Electrical Center of Excellence. Their team is dedicated to providing an inclusive workplace for all staff by continuing to enhance their workplace accommodations and create an innovative work environment,” said Myron Pincomb, IBCCES Board Chairman.
IBCCES also created CertifiedAutismCenter.com, as a free online resource for parents that lists certified locations and professionals. Each organization listed on the site has met Certified Autism Center™ (CAC) or Certified Neurodiverse Workplace™ (CNW) requirements.
