New Permanent Exhibit: SACRED STEEL The permanent display features the recovered USS Arizona bulkhead section suspended in a specially-welded frame revealing all sides of the relic. Visitors will be able to walk around and contemplate the significance of the ‘Sacred Steel’ for its place in history and for the determination it inspired that led to Victory in World War Two.

The Bulkhead section from sunken battleship USS Arizona on display – the 450-pound slab of half-inch steel went down with the ship during the Pearl Harbor attack. Over 1,100 crewmen lost their lives and remain entombed today. The artifact is Sacred Steel, memorializing all those who lost their lives in the Pearl Harbor attack, and symbolizing the rising up of the nation to overcome impossible odds to achieve victory in WWII.
