Fresh Food at local Farm Stands in Mesa, Arizona | Fresh Foodie Trail
Mesa, Arizona has the best Fresh Foodie Trail featuring locally grown, fresh food. You can find our local growers at these food stand locations at the farmers' markets.
Here at Visit Mesa, we call the path of agriculture-driven attractions and farmers markets the “Fresh Foodie Trail®,” where agritourists find themselves in fresh foodie heaven. We’re often referred to as the “culinary gateway to Phoenix and Scottsdale. Here’s our go-to guide for local Farmers Markets around City Limitless®.
On Wednesdays and Saturdays, the culinary-driven tourist could head over to the True Garden Farmstand, where they’d be faced with mounds and mounds of fresh vegetables grown in True Garden’s one-of-a-kind aeroponic towers. Prior to being devoured by the foodie, the vegetables are fed a steady diet of balanced minerals and micro-nutrients and sold as living plants. The Farmstand even states the produce they sell is harvested just minutes before being purchased. Talk about fresh!
Every Saturday, you will find the Downtown Mesa Farmers Market located at the Mesa Arts Center. The market is designed to help Arizona small businesses flourish by providing a fun and inviting sales environment and to make fresh, healthy options accessible to downtown residents. Each week there is new entertainment and fitness classes.
The Power Road Farmers Market is open daily at 9 am located in south east Mesa. This market is over 50 years old and known for their fresh produce and great prices!
Voted “Best U-Pick Farm” in both 2012 and 2013 by Phoenix New Times, neighborhood favorite Schnepf Farms lies on the Fresh Foodie Trail® as an escape from the big city. The bountiful seven acres of farmland are pesticide free and organic. The best part, in our opinion? “U-Pick” your own produce, and pay only $1.50 per pound! There’s no better deal in getting the freshest, cleanest produce available. Stop by in May for the juiciest peaches around!
Steadfast Farm is a two acre bio-intensive market farm in Mesa, AZ. They grow fruits, vegetables and flowers using organic practices and raise pastured poultry for eggs year round. Last year, Steadfast farms opened a store on the premises that features their produce, eggs and flowers as well as local bread, pastries, coffee, honey, flour, olive oil, raw milk and more!
If you can’t make it to one of the planned markets here in City Limitless®, the Farm Stand at the Farm at Agritopia is the place to go. This popular 24-hour, self-serve farmers market has fresh vegetables, fruit and eggs to enjoy. Just make sure you bring cash or check, as their self-serve farm stand is monitored on the honor system. Choose what you’d like, put the money in an envelope, place it in the box and then take your fresh eats with you!
We hope that this post has opened your eyes and inspired you to come experience Mesa City Limitless’ Fresh Foodie Trail® for yourselves. Words truly do it no justice!
